suffering from the effects of drought
right now. Nothing like spiritual drought. Look
at Psalm 23---green pastures, still
waters, restoration
C. Spiritual sickness/plague---vv. 37---Sick and tired of being sick and tired
Song from youth camp---I Will Change Your Name
I will change
your name, you shall no longer be called wounded, outcast, lonely or
afraid.
I will change
your name, your new name shall be faithfulness, lovingness, overcoming
one
Faithfulness, lovingness, on who seeks My face.
II. ONE CAUSE
If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk
in darkness we lie and do not the truth (1
John 1:6).
Sin---plague of the heart
A. Sins of commission---knowing what not to
do and doing it anyway. The Bible refers to
this as rebellion
or sin of the high hand.
B. Sins of ommission---James 4:17. Romans 7:19-20
Missing the mark--shooting
a bow and arrow
Israel was called
to be a priest to the nations
Us---Matthew
28:19-20, Acts 1:8
III. THREE CURES (or three aspects of the cure)---cf. 2 Chronicles 7:14
A. Turn---return, repent---humble ourselves
B. Call on His name---seek His face
C. Pray
IV. THREE POSITIVE CONSEQUENCES
A. He will hear
B. He will forgive
C. He will heal and restore
